The Studio

Established in 2001, Ballet Rincon is Southeast Tucson’s premier classical dance academy. Our mission is to promote excellence in training young dancers, while holding equal the students’ senses of physical and emotional well-being.

In our practice, we are committed to the highest standards of professional dance training and we strive to inspire young dancers to become informed, productive, good citizens of our world, and joyful ambassadors for the profoundly beautiful world of classical dance.

As dance educators, we believe that having a positive and excellent pre-collegiate dance experience influences the shaping of a young dancer’s person and character. For this, we are diligent in offering age-appropriate, leveled curricula throughout all the styles of dance we teach.

We are proud to integrate the AMERICAN BALLET THEATRE® National Training Curriculum, a breakthrough nine level program that combines high quality artistic training that supports dancer health and child development through a comprehensive set of age-appropriate, outcome-based guidelines to provide the highest quality ballet training to dance students of all ages and skill levels.

Ballet Rincon dancers have the opportunity to annually perform in two full-length classical ballets, as well as a spring concert featuring jazz, contemporary, and tap genres of dance. Additionally, the Ballet Rincon Performance Ensemble (HYPERLINK TO PERFORMANCE ENSEMBLE), our flagship performance group, is regularly invited to perform in notable community events throughout Tucson. Past performances have included exhibit openings at the Tucson Museum of Art, The University of Arizona’s Confucius Institute’s Chinese New Year Gala at Centennial Hall, and the Tucson Festival of Books. In 2017, in partnership with the Tucson Museum of Art, Ballet Rincon launched Art in the Park, an annual arts festival with the purpose of bringing quality youth-based arts groups together for an afternoon of public performances and interactive activities.

Ballet Rincon dancers have been accepted in nationally recognized university dance and professional dance training programs. They include: American Ballet Theatre, Boston Ballet, Houston Ballet Academy, Joffrey Ballet, Kaatsbaan Extreme Ballet, and the Washington Ballet. Ballet Rincon dancers have been accepted to tap-ranking collegiate dance programs, including Indiana University, The University of Arizona, and The University of Utah. Additionally, other dancers have matriculated in the nation’s top academic programs with great success.
