Mirela Roza

Ballet-Advance Training Levels

Mirela Roza was born in Fortaleza, Brazil, where she received most of her dance training with Tatiana Leskova from the Original Ballets Russes. She performed for four seasons at Ballet Municipal Theatre of Rio de Janeiro under the direction of Jean-Ives Lormeau, former étoile of Paris Opera Ballet. While performing with BTMRJ, she had the opportunity to perform in full-length classical ballets in the company’s repertoire including The Sleeping Beauty, Daphnis et Chloé and Les Présages. She has also performed in a national and international tour with Ringling Brothers & Barnum and Bailey Circus, which contributed to her versatility in different dance styles and techniques.

Ms. Roza received her intensive education at The University of Arizona, earning a B.F.A in Dance and a B.A. in Psychology. In May 2015, she received her Masters degree of Fine Arts in Performance and Choreography. During Mirela’s education at UA, she performed works by nationally recognized choreographers, including James Clouser and Doug Nielsen.

In addition to her current term at Ballet Rincon, Ms. Roza serves as Adjunct Faculty at Pima Community College. In her short time there, she has found that her background in education, performance, and choreography has helped her contribute to the activities and culture of the department. She looks forward to many future seasons of work with the dancers at Ballet Rincon.
